Multimedia Business Development Leader | Content Creation, Delivery, Management and Monitoring Strategist
I am a professional who started at a young age in the communications fields. I am a researcher, social communicator and innovative, creative and versatile bilingual (English-Spanish) journalist who transforms ideas into new values and results, with several years of experience in broadcast media, digital content development and management in the U.S., Latin America and Spain.
I have developed and managed communications, marketing, sales and content management projects for small businesses, web portals and media outlets, including newspapers, magazines, radio and television stations.
As a team leader in these projects, I assisted as on-air personality, spokesperson, master of ceremonies and conducted several seminars and workshops in Spanish before large audiences locally and internationally. These tasks helped me become more effective in Hispanic marketing strategy, planning, public relations, advertising, campaign management and creative thinking. These traits coupled with my results-driven marketing background makes for highly effective marketing solutions.
I have a dual master's degree program in journalism from the Universitat de Barcelona & Columbia University of New York - Graduate School of Journalism. I also have a bachelor’s degree in journalism and Social Communication from the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá, Colombia and advanced studies in Business Administration from the Pontificia Bolivariana University in Medellin, Colombia. In 2006 I was certified in Art History and Italian language by the Michelangelo Institute and in Design and Painting in the Art Academy of Firenze both located in Florence, Italy. Also, I attended to the International Communications Forum in Geneva, Switzerland as a participating member in the summer of 2006.
I am a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists of the United States of America (NAHJ) since 2003 and former member of the World Association and Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) in Vancouver, Canada, and One World Radio Association in Geneva, Switzerland.
As part of my community involvement, I founded in 2002 the Tertulia Cultural Hispana-TCH- in Orlando, Florida, which served for more than 8 years as a link to those art and culture supporters in the local Hispanic community in Central Florida. Recently I founded the Cultural Journalism Institute, which is a research, educational and informative project.
Beyond loving journalism deeply, I am passionate about the art world. Since I was five years old, I find painting as a great hobby and since 2006 after returning from studying in Florence, Italy I have taken more seriously to be a contemporary inspirational visual artist and poet while telling stories to generate my daily livelihood.
